Has issues concerning basic editing functionality that mean one should think twice before purchasing.

Its most crucial shortfall is that this device will not let you "split" video recordings on the HDD.

If you intend to do a mass transfer of those archive video 4/8 hour tapes, be prepared to have to press record and stop for each episode individually. None of this letting it record overnight and edit it later.

This "split" functionality is present on other brand DVD recorders and is, I feel a serious shortcoming on this model.

It took several readings of the manual to realise that where they say "Dubbing" on the remote control, what they mean is "Copy". in order to copy titles between the HDD and DVD Discs, I needed to use the "dubbing" function on the remote control.

In conclusion, what seems to be a great product in terms of video and audio capture is let down by a poorly thought out software implementation.
